Get Thy Bread ("we", "us") is operated by Jaycee-Ann Day, #410 - 1140 Pendrell Street, Vancouver BC V6E 1L4, Canada. Contact: [email protected].
The short version
Get Thy Bread is a local-first desktop app. The record of your work (your Claude Code sessions, git commits, GitHub activity, calendar events, timesheets, and invoices) is captured and stored on your own Mac. We do not collect or store that work data on our servers. To generate summaries and invoices, the minimal text needed is sent to our AI service, which forwards it to our AI provider.
What we store on our servers
- Account: your email address and a hashed password.
- Billing: a Stripe customer reference and your subscription status. Card details are handled by Stripe and never touch our servers.
- AI usage metering: per-request token counts tied to your account (for fair use and billing). We do not store the content of your prompts or results.
What stays on your device
Your captured activity, timesheets, invoices, client and business details, and your local app settings are stored in your macOS user data folder and are not uploaded to us.
What is sent for AI features, and to whom
When you use an AI feature (daily summary, invoice generation, chat edits), the relevant text (for example: commit subjects, Claude prompt text, PR titles, meeting titles and attendees, and the invoice or client details you are working on) is sent to our backend and forwarded to our AI sub-processor to produce a result.
Sub-processors:
- OpenAI (AI model provider): receives the text described above to generate output. See OpenAI's API data usage terms.
- Stripe (payments).
- Cloudflare (backend hosting and database).
Legal bases and your rights
Depending on where you live (for example the EU/UK under GDPR, or California under CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your account data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise these, email [email protected]. Because your work data lives on your device, you control it directly.
Data retention
Account and billing records are kept while your account is active and for 90 days after cancellation, then deleted. Usage-metering records are kept for 24 months.
Children
Get Thy Bread is not directed to anyone under 16.
